**Check · Plan · Speak Up**

Leila and Ben still have questions about Meadow Park. Instead of guessing what will happen, their class begins to plan how to ask for information, explain an idea and listen respectfully.

In this unit, we practise reading carefully, asking clear questions and giving reasons. The class is preparing for a possible council visit. We do not yet know what the council will say or what will happen to the park.

## Read and explore

Start with the illustrated pupil workbook. Read the classroom story, then explore what the class knows, what it needs to ask and what it could suggest.

**Main pupil workbook — Can Leila’s Class Save Meadow Park?**

Use the Council Visit Card to talk, draw and prepare your ideas. Practise respectful speaking and the words *council, visit, protect, community, question* and *solution*.

## Comprehension and grammar

Return to the story to explain Ben’s worry and Leila’s suggestion. Then practise questions beginning **“Could you…?”** and connect an idea to a reason with **“because.”**

Work through the activities with your teacher. You may talk first, use a familiar language, draw or ask for help with writing. You do not have to complete every page in one lesson.

## Prepare your message

Choose one detail the story confirms, one question you still want to ask and one idea with a reason. Rehearse with a partner. Listen to their response and make one part of your message clearer.

This is a classroom rehearsal, not a real council meeting. Keep suggestions separate from confirmed facts, and do not invent the council’s answer.
