Teaching across languages, classrooms and worlds

I am Alicia Lund—a qualified teacher, writer, educational resource developer and the founder of Learn with Alicia.

Learn with Alicia grew from one simple belief: students learn best when they feel seen, and teachers teach best when they do not have to begin every lesson with a blank page.

I created this space to bring together thoughtful teaching, meaningful stories and practical resources that help learners understand—not simply memorise.

My journey

My work is shaped by two educational worlds: multilingual learning in Sweden and English and Literature education in Uganda.

I hold a teaching degree from Uganda and am currently completing further subject teacher education for lower- and upper-secondary schools in Sweden. I have also completed teaching-assistant training that included special educational needs education.

This combination of professional training and experience across two educational contexts has shaped how I understand teaching, curriculum and the different ways learners need to be supported.

It has taught me that strong educational material must do more than look attractive. It must recognise different starting points, provide clear support and still give every learner room to think independently.

That principle guides everything I create.

What I am building

Learn with Alicia is a growing educational studio with three connected learning worlds.

Voices Between Worlds

Voices Between Worlds is a story-led Mother Tongue learning programme for multilingual children and young people.

Through Little Voices and learning rooms for Grades 1–3, 4–6 and 7–9, learners explore language, identity, belonging and community. The materials include learner activities, writing support, vocabulary development and separate guidance for teachers.

The programme is developed with visible connections to the Swedish curriculum while recognising that multilingualism is an asset—not a problem that needs to be corrected.

Uganda English and Literature

The Uganda English and Literature rooms support secondary-school learners and teachers through curriculum-conscious, story-based materials.

Instead of presenting English as a collection of disconnected rules, the resources place learners inside familiar school and community situations. They read, investigate, discuss, solve problems and communicate their ideas.

The Set Book Lab extends this approach into Literature through story guides, character analysis, themes, literary techniques, essay support and scenario-based practice.

The guiding principle is simple:

Learn how to analyse. Do not memorise answers.

The Learn with Alicia Library

The Library is the shared reading room of the platform.

It contains carefully selected free books, reading rooms, vocabulary activities, writing resources and original Learn with Alicia stories for different ages.

It is a place where learners can read for pleasure, develop confidence and discover that books can belong in their everyday lives.

How I create

I believe educational resources should be:

• warm without losing academic purpose;
• challenging without becoming cold or intimidating;
• clear without becoming shallow;
• visually inviting without becoming distracting; and
• practical for the teachers and learners who will actually use them.

My materials often begin with a story, question, mystery or community problem. Learners are supported step by step—from understanding what happened to explaining why it matters and expressing their own ideas confidently.

Teacher guides, learner activities, assessment support and printable materials are designed to work together as one connected learning journey.
