Teacher Guide: Why Should We Come Again?

This teacher guide supports the Senior 4 English material Why Should We Come Again?, developed under the curriculum topic Leadership.

The material places learners inside a realistic community problem involving poor organisation, weak leadership and loss of public trust. Rather than receiving a ready-made solution, learners are expected to study the situation, identify the causes of the problem, discuss possible responses and develop a practical community work plan.

The teacher’s role is to guide learners through careful reading, discussion, language use, collaboration and independent reflection. Learners should be encouraged to justify their ideas with evidence from the story and to consider fairness, responsibility, inclusion, safety and accountability.

The material is designed to strengthen:

• and the use of modal verbs such as should, must, ought to and need to.
