An official school notice explains how learners can respond safely to rubbish blocking the school’s drainage channels—but almost nobody reads it. Instead, Joel confidently announces that the planned clean-up has been cancelled. Unfortunately, confidence and accuracy are not always twins.
In this Senior One English resource, learners compare the official notice with Joel’s inaccurate message. They identify the environmental problem, check information against evidence and distinguish safe student actions from work that requires adult supervision.
Learners then use question forms, speaking and writing skills to correct the message and propose practical ways for students, teachers and school leaders to restore the flow of water, prevent future blockages and protect their shared environment.
